“Mustang is one of the few places in the Himalayan region that has been able to retain its traditional Tibetan culture. Tibetan culture now survives only in exile and a few places like Mustang, which have had long historical and cultural ties with Tibet.” – Dalai Lama

Until 1992, this Himalayan region was closed for foreigners. Nesting on the Tibetan boarder, this region is dominated by giants Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Situated at the head of the KALI GANDAKI river in north central Nepal, Mustang is naturally and culturally attractive. Tourists in Upper Mustang can opt for the strangely eroded landscape of this remote territory that presents a vibrant mosaic of earth colors- red, yellows, browns and blues. This location is bestowed with ecological diversities, delightful views of snowy peaks, colorful village, monasteries, ancient palaces.

Dolpo region is situated between the Tibetan plateau and the Dhaulagiri ranges. The entire district was closed to trekkers until 1989 when the southern part of Dolpo was opened to organized trekking groups.

The Upper Dolpo region Trekking is an isolated area in Nepal which has been severely off-limits until only recently, so the traditions and way of life have remained integral. In the autumn of 1990 the first British tour operator organized a trek from east to west, from Pokhara to Jumla through Lower Dolpo. Upper Dolpo Trekking a land of the Himalaya. Upper Dolpo trekking is situated in the western part of the country and upper Dolpo trekking is one of the most remote regions in Nepal.

Upper Dolpo trekking routes passed many enormous mountain ranges – Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Kanjiroba, to name but a few – and passed through Lower Dolpo, at one time a small kingdom in its own right. More recently we have repeated the route, with differences and our groups see very few other Europeans so they are inspired greatly about the wild remoteness, the stunning mountain scenery and the fact that the local people had that innocent friendliness peculiar to people who live in excessively remote mountainous regions.

Upper Dolpo trekking adventure begins with tours of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. We then fly to Nepalgunj and then to Juphal from where we begin our trek in the Dolpo region which was made famous by Peter Matthiessen’s book – The Snow Leopard. Nepal’s first English subtitled movie on Dolpo, The Caravan, was also a huge success and was also nominated for the Oscar Award in the best foreign language film category. During our trek, we pass through interesting villages, trekking routes and meet fascinating people. We also cross a few high Himalayan passes and enjoy the vast and tranquil beauty of Phoksundo Lake. From Shey Gompa, we follow the ancient Trans Himalayan Trade route and return back to Jhuphal as our trek ends. The trek takes you into the wild west of Nepal.

This trek is considered as an alternative trek route for Annapurna circuit trekking as trek encompasses all of the elements of a classic Nepal trekking experience of villages, wildlife, panoramic mountain views and range of landscape from forest to high alpine.

Trekking around Mardi Himal base camp is a shorter trek making it a great for first-timers and more experienced trekkers, as it takes around the least explored trail much away from the crowd of trekkers through south of Annapurna then towards Mardi Himal (5587m), a prominent peak lying directly under the inspiring summit of Machhapuchare and directly opposite the massive south face of Annapurna 1.

First, we take a bus ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara that takes around six hours of drive. Then drive to the trailhead at Phedi, the starting point of our trek. The walk goes on through the forest until low camp with the best views of Machhapuchare.

During the spring season, routes are in its best with the blossom rhododendron forests offering a spectacular demonstration of pink and red. The landscape changes into a rugged high mountain landscape with views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchare, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. We arrive at high camp which again offers stunning views overlooking the entire Annapurna range. Reaching base camp of Mardi Himal rewards us with the views of overlooking Annapurna ranges- an excellent introduction to trekking in the Himalaya. Leaving High camp we descend to natural hot spring at Jhino Danda to have refreshed. We drive back to Pokhara where our trek package completes.

For most travelers a mere glimpse of Mt. Everest is adequate to give a feeling of content. Trekking in the Everest region is one of the most sought and desired treks across the world. Everest Cho La Pass Gokyo Trek is one of the lifetime adventures equipped with cultural exploration and natural beauties.

This Everest three pass trek is designed in such way that you will be able to trek along the three passes – Renjo La Pass (5388 m), Cho La Pass (5380 m), and Kongma La Pass (5535 m). Along with this pass, you will also be trekking to the different places in the Khumbu region like Gokyo Ri, Everest Base Camp, Kalapatthar, and Chukung Ri. This is a strenuous trek where you will be climbing some technical passes and you will need a skilled guide to help you cross these passes. This will be one of the memorable 20-day treks in the Everest region.

Everest High Passes Trek is an exhilarating adventure in the Himalayas of Nepal that includes trekking on popular Everest trails while also discovering unique gems of the Khumbu region. On our trekking adventure, we cross three high passes in the Everest region – Kongma La Pass (5,535/18,159ft), Cho La Pass (5420m/17,782ft) and Renjo La Pass (5,340m/17,520ft) and set foot on the Everest base camp, climb Kala Patthar and Gokyo Ri; and tour Gokyo Lakes. This route also introduces trekkers to the remote and untouched Nangpa La Valley, the Sherpa village of Marlung and the monastery village of Thame.

Everest High Passes Trek is an ideal choice for a true adventure seeker looking for a challenging trek in the Everest region of Nepal which also involves crossing high mountain passes. If we are looking to undertake a slightly less adventurous trek than this but which includes Gokyo lakes, Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp, then Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lakes – 18 Days would be best.

The 19 days trip to Everest 3 high passes trip begins after you fly to Lukla. You shall embark on the journey to reach Namche Bazar via Phakding. From Namche Bazar, passing through Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep, you will reach Everest Base Camp. Then, viewing the best of the Everest from Kalapatthar, you will descend down to and cross the Cho La Pass and then back to Namche Bazar. You will ascend to Kongma la first then make a beeline for the famous Everest base camp. Cho la is the next pass you will visit trekking through the majestic vantage point of Kalapatthar and then it’s a blessed downward trail to the emerald lakes of Gokyo. Enjoying glorious views from the fifth lake near Gokyo ri, you will set out for the formidable final pass of Renjo La. You will then take the traditional route Nangpo La to reach Thame and finally reach Marlung for the night. Your trip concludes at Lukla.
