Until 1992, this Himalayan region was closed for foreigners. Nesting on the Tibetan boarder, this region is dominated by giants Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Situated at the head of the KALI GANDAKI river in north central Nepal, Mustang is naturally and culturally attractive. Tourists in Upper Mustang can opt for the strangely eroded landscape of this remote territory that presents a vibrant mosaic of earth colors- red, yellows, browns and blues. This location is bestowed with ecological diversities, delightful views of snowy peaks, colorful village, monasteries, ancient palaces.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, a spiritual and life-changing journey can be accomplished via Simikot on Helicopter.

This is an 11 days trip where you will travel from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and then to Simikot by flight and take a helicopter ride to Hilsa which is Nepal – China border. After crossing the border we will start a jeep drive to lake Mansarovar, perform a puja and take a holy bath. Next day we will drive to Yam Dwar from where our Kailash parikrama begins.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is named after two holy, spiritual and religiously significant sites: Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Mt. Kailash (6,638m), familiar to Hindus as Kailash Parvat is the most sacred mountain of Asia. Hindus believe that the mountain is the abode of Lord Shiva and his family. Not only Hindus, but the mountain is also sacred to Buddhist, Jain and Bonpo religions as well. Buddhists believe that Mt. Kailash is the home of Buddha Demchok and Bon, a religion in Tibet believe that the mountain is the seat of all spiritual power. Another major highlight of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra (journey) is Lake Mansarovar, the highest freshwater lake in the world (4500m). Pilgrims believe that drinking water from the lake or taking dip or bath in the lake will wash away all their sins.

Kailash Tour via Simikot is an excellent journey to Mt. Kailash whereby we experience trekking in one of the most remote western parts of Nepal before entering Tibet. We arrive in Kathmandu and spend a day resting and preparing for the trip and fly to Nepalgunj, a city in the western Terai plains of Nepal the next day. On our Simikot to Kailash journey, we travel along ancient pilgrimage routes and trade links, trekking across the border into Tibet. Then the Tibet tour starts with a visit to the Garuda valley, a place believed to be the cradle of the Tibetan civilization during the ancient times when Bon religion was practiced throughout Tibet, long before Buddhism was introduced. Next, we circumambulate Mt. Kailash and tour Mansarovar Lake, both of which hold great natural, cultural and religious significance. The Kailash Tour via Simikot ends in Lhasa which is called the ‘cradle of Tibetan civilization.

Dolpo region is situated between the Tibetan plateau and the Dhaulagiri ranges. The entire district was closed to trekkers until 1989 when the southern part of Dolpo was opened to organized trekking groups.

The Upper Dolpo region Trekking is an isolated area in Nepal which has been severely off-limits until only recently, so the traditions and way of life have remained integral. In the autumn of 1990 the first British tour operator organized a trek from east to west, from Pokhara to Jumla through Lower Dolpo. Upper Dolpo Trekking a land of the Himalaya. Upper Dolpo trekking is situated in the western part of the country and upper Dolpo trekking is one of the most remote regions in Nepal.

Upper Dolpo trekking routes passed many enormous mountain ranges – Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Kanjiroba, to name but a few – and passed through Lower Dolpo, at one time a small kingdom in its own right. More recently we have repeated the route, with differences and our groups see very few other Europeans so they are inspired greatly about the wild remoteness, the stunning mountain scenery and the fact that the local people had that innocent friendliness peculiar to people who live in excessively remote mountainous regions.

Upper Dolpo trekking adventure begins with tours of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. We then fly to Nepalgunj and then to Juphal from where we begin our trek in the Dolpo region which was made famous by Peter Matthiessen’s book – The Snow Leopard. Nepal’s first English subtitled movie on Dolpo, The Caravan, was also a huge success and was also nominated for the Oscar Award in the best foreign language film category. During our trek, we pass through interesting villages, trekking routes and meet fascinating people. We also cross a few high Himalayan passes and enjoy the vast and tranquil beauty of Phoksundo Lake. From Shey Gompa, we follow the ancient Trans Himalayan Trade route and return back to Jhuphal as our trek ends. The trek takes you into the wild west of Nepal.

Island Peak, an isolated peak located in Chukkung is the most popular destination for peak climbing that includes trekking to the Base Camp of the World’s highest peak. It is once in the lifetime adventure and wonderful experience.

The local name of Island peak is Imja Tse. It is an isolated peak in Chhukung valley elevation at 6189 m (20,305ft) from the sea level. Actually, this peak is the extension of Mt. Lhotse Shar and it is located between Mount Lhotse and Imja glaciers. It involves one steep and exposed 100 m, ice or snow climb, otherwise a nontechnical snow climb.

The summit of the Island peak offers stunning views of huge south face of Mt. Lhotse (8,501 m), Nuptse (7,879 m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410 m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383 m) in the north, Mt. Makalu (8475 m) and Mt. Amadablam (6856m) in the east with beautiful panoramic view of Khumbu region and Chhukung valley.

You will first trek towards Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar then goes Chhukung valley and start climbing the peak. Though climbing this peak does not compulsorily require formal climbing training, you should follow the instructions of the expedition guide. This fabulous adventure includes the visit to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar before the climb, allowing proper acclimatization, with enough rest days for practice.

Your adventure starts with an exciting flight to Lukla after you depart to Kathmandu with the permit and then heading higher to the nice villages of Namche-Thyangboche-Pheriche, visiting monasteries and interesting Sherpa cultures of the Buddhist religion.
